Lenstec Capsular Tension Rings are non-optical devices and are intended to be used in combination with an intraocular lens for the surgical correction of the aphakia in adults 18 years and older. The rings are manufactured of medical grade Perspex CQ-UV Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA).
Implantation of the Lenstec Capsular Tension Ring may be indicated in the following conditions:
- To stabilize the capsule in cases of defective or absent zonulae • To prevent shrinkage/contraction of the capsular bag • For circular expansion of the capsular bag • To prevent/correct IOL decentration/tilt/dislocation • To stabilize the capsule in cases of high myopia • For stable operating conditions (e.g. after ocular trauma)
